Ocelots

found: North and South America

Ocelots are found in the Americas. They are easily recognised by their striped and spotted faces, as well as their black-edged spots.















Jaguars

scientific name: panthera onca

Jaguars are the largest cats found in the Western hemisphere. Their name comes from a native word that means "he who kills with one leap".

















Bobcats

scientific name: lynx rufus

found: North America

Bobcats are wild cats that live in North America. They can grow up to 40 inches long and can weigh up to 30 pounds!

















Pumas

Scientific name: puma concolor

found: North and South America

Pumas are new world cats, and are also known as mountain lions, cougars, and panthers!

















Servals

scientific name: felis serval

found: Africa

Servals are slender cats that live in Africa. In Africaans, they are known as tierboskats which means "tiger forest cats"

Wolves

found: North America, Europe, and Asia

Wolves are the largest members of the dog family and are well known for their mysterious howls.







 











Arctic Wolves

scientific name: canis lupus arctos

found: North America and Asia

Arctic wolves are a subspecies of the grey wolf, and usually live in the cold tundras and ice caps of the north.

















Tigers

scientific name: panthera tigris

found: Africa and Asia 

Tigers are well known for their fierce looks and the dark stripes on their backs. They can sometimes eat a whole horse in one sitting!



















Snow Leopards

scientific name: Panthera uncia

found: Asia

Snow leopards are big cats that usually hunt goats and sheep in the mountains of Asia and India.

















Lions

scientific name: panthera leo

found: Africa

Lions live in groups called prides. Males are easily recognised by the manes on their necks.

















Foxes

scientific name: vulpes vulpes

found: the Americas, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia

Foxes are distant descendants of wolves and have a widespread reputation for cunning and trickery.



















​Koalas

found: Australia 

Koalas are marsupials, which are mammals who are born in a mother's pouch on her belly.

Rabbits

found: all continents except Antarctica

Rabbits are commonly kept as pets, and are known for their speed and agility.

















Pandas

found: Asia

Pandas are the distant relatives of bears, raccoons, and red pandas. Their main diet consists of bamboo.

















Raccoons

scientific name: procyon lotor

found: all continents except Antarctica

Raccoons are well known for the "masks" over their eyes and the rings on their tails.

















Monkeys

found: the Americas, Asia, and Africa

Monkeys are considered to be some of the most intelligent species on earth. They are close relatives to humans.
